GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Cabela's Incorporated, a hunting, fishing a outdoor gear store, announced Tuesday it will open a store in Greenville, hiring more than 200 people in the process.

Officials said the 100,000-square-foot store will be located in the Magnolia Park development along Woodruff Road. They said the store is expected to open by spring 2014.

"South Carolinians are part of an exception outdoor tradition and share the Cabela's lifestyle and values," said Cabela's CEO Tommy Millner. "We wanted to build a store in Greenville to recognize that."

Greenville Mayor Knox White said Cabela's is a great fit for Greenville and will compliment the other retail offerings in Magnolia Park.

The company said the store will employ 235 full-time, part-time and seasonal workers, which mostly will come from the Greenville area.

The store will reflect the popular Cabela's store model with log construction, stonework, wood siding and metal roofing, according to the company. It will feature a gun library, bargain cave, fudge shop and indoor archery range.
