GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Two Wade Hampton High School students were arrested on Tuesday after deputies said they had weapons at school.
Greenville County deputies said a school resource officer heard that several students may have had guns on campus. The officer located a black Airsoft pistol in one student's backpack in a gym locker then found an Airsoft gun and pocket knife hidden on a second student, deputies said.
The two boys, ages 14 and 15, were arrested at school and taken to the juvenile detention center on charges of carrying a weapon on school property, deputies said.
A spokesperson for Greenville County Schools said both students were suspended pending a recommendation for expulsion.
