SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Troopers are investigating a fatal wreck after a pedestrian was hit and killed while crossing a Spartanburg highway Wednesday night.
The crash happened about 10:30 p.m. along SC 296.
The Highway Patrol said a Toyota 4-Runner was traveling east on 296 when it hit a pedestrian headed north who was walking across the road.
Troopers said the victim was wearing dark clothing.
Spartanburg County Coroner Rusty Clevenger identified the pedestrian as 55-year-old William Michael Curtis, originally of Gaffney but most recently living in Spartanburg.
