SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said an unknown man who passed a bad check at a Boiling Springs Walmart may have done the same thing in another Upstate county.

Spartanburg County deputies said Dec. 24, the unidentified man seen on surveillance cashed a counterfeit check worth $731.37 at the Walmart on Highway 9 in Boiling Springs.

Deputies said the victim lives in North Carolina and the check cashed in Boiling Springs had her checking account info but was counterfeit.

The victim's son reported the fraud to deputies in January when they saw the money went through her account as an electronic debit, according to the deputy's report. The victim also filed a report with the Laurens County Sheriff's Office when another check was cashed in there area.

If anyone has any information about who the man is or about either of these two cases, they are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
