Rain, humidity returning to NC as August begins

Updated:
Higher humidity and rain will return to the forecast for central North Carolina this weekend.

Wednesday was another day in the 80s, the 17th day this month with highs below 90.  The high in the Triangle Wednesday was 81 while Fayetteville made it up to 87.  The normal high this time of year is still 90 and we should stay below that for another week.

Overnight will not be as cool and comfortable, but should still feel pretty good for this time of year.  There could be a few showers early in the evening, then dry and partly cloudy with a morning low down to 64.

Thursday will be mostly cloudy, a little warmer and a little more humid; but still below normal and pleasant for this time of year.  Highs will be around 87.  There is also a small chance of rain Thursday.

Friday will have more clouds and there could be a couple showers around.  The highs will stay in check with the clouds; the high should be in the lower 80s.

It looks like the weekend will be more unsettled with mostly cloudy skies and scattered showers and storms possible.  Temperatures will still be cooler than normal too, topping out in the lower to mid 80s.

Monday could still have a few showers and storms possible.  Expect highs in the middle 80s with a mix of clouds and some sun.  Tuesday will be partly sunny with a slight risk of a shower or storm.  Highs will continue in the 80s with a high of 87.
