WILLIAMSTON, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore said a Piedmont man died after falling into an industrial machine at work Tuesday morning.
Shore said the man, identified as 62-year-old Kendall Collier, was at Stanco Metal in Williamston working on the machine when he fell into it. He said Collier was traumatically injured and died.
Shore said the company's manager told him the machine has a safety mechanism that should have shut the machine down, but it might not have worked properly.
According to the Michigan-based company's website, the plant provides metal fabrication services including stamping, forming, welding, drilling, riveting, assembly, powder coating and packaging. The Williamson facility is located on Twenty Nine Court.
