PICKENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

South Carolina Highway Patrol said two people were killed in a crash in Pickens County Wednesday evening.

According to troopers, a SUV ran off the side of Raines Road and overturned. Both people in the vehicle were ejected and died at the scene, Lance Cpl. Bill Rhyne said.

Troopers said neither person was wearing a seatbelt.

Pickens County Coroner Kandy Kelley identified the victims as Grover Wesley Myrick Jr., 28, who was driving, and Crystal Baton, 25. She said they lived in Easley.

A memorial fund for Myrick has been set up at Suntrust Bank under his name.

The road was blocked off while troopers investigated, but is back open.
