Clevenger also share a few words with FOX Carolina about pedestrian and vehicle safety near railroad tracks as West was the second man killed in a train-related accident in Spartanburg County in a day. Wednesday night, a teenager died after he was struck by a train walking along some tracks in Greer.
"Please be careful around RR crossings and tracks don't be walking on the tracks, don't drive recklessly crossing, make sure and obey signals, do everything that is required because trains can't stop," Clevenger said. "They don't have anyway of stopping like a car does when they are coming down the tracks. I just want to raise awareness about that because we have had two within 12 hours and that is too many."
Wellford police, Spartanburg County deputies, fire and EMS also assisted at the crash scene. Police are investigating the accident.
