COLUMBIA, SC (FOX Carolina) -
One Upstate family is a little happier, and richer, this week after they bought a winning $100,000 lottery ticket.
South Carolina Education Lottery officials said the Greenville father and son bought the winning Palmetto Cash 5 for Monday's drawing and cashed in the winning ticket on Tuesday.
The duo told lottery officials that they buy a lotto ticket together at least once a week.
They bought the winning ticket at the Piedmont Petro Corner Mart on White Horse Road, which will get a $1,000 commission for selling the claimed ticket.
The odds of winning $100,000 playing Palmetto Cash 5 are 1 in 501,942.
