GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville police said they are looking for a man who threatened a cashier in order to get the money from her register.

The attempted robbery happened last Friday at the Burger King restaurant at 332 S. Pleasantburg Dr.

Police said a 20- to 30-year-old white man walked into the restaurant and placed an order. They said that when the cashier opened the drawer on the register, the man demanded the money from the till and threatened to hurt her if she did not give it to him. They said the cashier then closed the drawer and ran to the back of the store. The man then fled, they said.

Investigators said the man escaped in an older tan vehicle, which was driven by a white woman.

Anyone with information about the attempted robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME (864-232-7463).
