The passenger riding with a woman accused of hitting a 10-year-old Cherokee County girl with her car then fleeing the scene has been arrested.

The Highway Patrol charged Tracy Cobb with failure to render aid Friday. Troopers said Cobb was riding in the car with his sister, Nikki Waters, 40, who was driving when she hit the girl along Hopewell Road Jan. 21.

Troopers said the girl was riding a scooter in the southbound lane of Hopewell Road when a car hit her and left the scene. The child was flown to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for treatment, troopers said.

Cobb was arrested Friday and is awaiting a bond hearing. His sister was arrested the day after the crash and charged with hit-and-run with great bodily injury, driving under suspension and failure to render aid. She was being held at the Cherokee County Detention Center on $75,000 bond.
