GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Greenwood man whose body was found inside a home Sunday morning was beaten to death, according to Greenwood County Coroner Sonny Cox.

Greenwood Police Capt. Nick Futch said an acquaintance of the man stopped by the Central Avenue home about 10 a.m., found him dead and called 911.

Cox identified the man as 42-year-old Vincent Hurley. He said Hurley died from blunt force trauma to the head and body. He said Hurley's death was ruled a homicide.

Futch said police had no reason to believe the acquaintance was involved in the death and they think the victim lived alone.
