IHOP offering free pancakes, asking for donations to kids' hospitals

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

In celebration of National Pancake Day, IHOP restaurants are serving up short stacks for free to raise money for the Children's Miracle Network.

IHOP restaurants in Greenville and nationwide are giving short stacks to diners for free, inviting them to make a voluntary donation to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, which includes the Children's Hospital of Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center.

This is the eighth year IHOP has celebrated the pancake day and the restaurant chain hopes to raise $3 million this year as part of the 30th anniversary of the Children's Miracle Network.

Last year, IHOP served 4 million free pancakes - if all of them were stacked they would soar 16 miles high.

Diners can stop by a local IHOP restaurant until 10 p.m. on Tuesday for their free stack.
