Tommy McClain (Anderson Co. Sheriff's Office)
ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -
The man who deputies said was the leader of a burglary ring in Anderson County was sentenced to 10 years in prison Tuesday.
Tommy McClain pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary, grand larceny, receiving stolen goods and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Investigators said that McClain, who was arrested in November 2011, worked with 21 other people to steal more than $160,000 worth of items, including golf carts, four-wheelers, fire arms and vehicles.
During his bond hearing two years ago, McClain told the judge he had been framed.
Prosecutors said McClain is serving a six-year sentence for a probation violation on similar charges.
Many of the stolen items were recovered, prosecutors said.
