Police: Man in bear hat steals $800 phone

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Police hope someone spotted a man who was wearing a bear-like hat with ears and stole a $800 cell phone from a Spartanburg Best Buy store.

Spartanburg police said the man entered the Blackstock Road store just before 6 p.m. on Wednesday wearing dark pants, a white hoodie and the distinctive hat.

The man took a Galaxy II cell phone from the display then ran out of the store towards the Dorman Centre Walmart, police said.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
