A power outage at the Raleigh headquarters of the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles has disrupted the agency's services.
DMV spokeswoman Marge Howell said Thursday the electricity went out at the building on New Bern Avenue shortly after 11 a.m.
Computer systems used to conduct DMV services at locations statewide have been affected, though Howell said license bureaus could still provide many basic services. Customers are being urged to call their local DMV office before they visit to ensure their needs can be met.
Howell said it was not immediately clear what caused the outage. Work to restore the agency's power supply is expected to last through Thursday night.
