GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Highway Patrol said a pedestrian died in a crash along a busy Greenville highway Friday morning.

Troopers said the crash happened along Cedar Lane (SC 183) just before 6 a.m. at Alamo Street near West Blue Ridge Drive (SC 253).

The coroner said the victim was a male who appeared to be in his 30s, but there was not any identification on him.

Troopers said the man was walking south in the roadway when a car also headed south struck him. They said the driver did not see the pedestrian at the time of the crash.

FOX Carolina crews at the scene said traffic was moving along the westbound lanes Cedar Lane, though the eastbound lanes were blocked as investigators worked to clear the scene. Deputies and troopers were investigating.
