PICKENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Walmart has begun hiring the 150 people the company needs for a new store that is set to open this spring in Pickens.

The retail giant has opened a temporary hiring center at 211 E. Main St., across from the Pickens County Courthouse, where people can apply for the available jobs. The center is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Store Manager Christopher Lee said the company will be hiring both full-time and part-time employees for the store. He said people are needed in all areas of the store, including supervisory positions.

The company also has a benefits program available to employees that includes healthcare coverage, 401(k), merchandise discounts, a stock purchase program and life insurance.

Interested applicants may also apply for the jobs online at careers.walmart.com.
