South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers said one person is dead after a crash early Sunday morning in Pickens County.
Troopers said the crash happened around 1 a.m. on Cherokee Trail, just outside of Easley.
The Pickens County Coroner's Office identified the victim as 21-year-old Michael Burton, of Easley.
Troopers said Burton was driving north when his Toyota pickup truck ran off the road. Troopers said Burton over-corrected, ran off the other side of the road and into a tree.
Troopers said Burton was pronounced dead at the scene.
