GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Salvation Army of Greenville County is in need of donations to stock the empty shelves of its food pantry.

To help The Salvation Army of Greenville County fill its pantry shelves, FOX Carolina is encouraging people to stop by the Ingles grocery store on Stallings Road to make a donation.

The Morning News' Joe Gagnon will be at the grocery store until 9 a.m. to help collect donations.

In 2012, The Salvation Army served more than 100,000 meals to residents of the shelter and nearly 10,000 bags of good to individuals in need.

The Salvation Army's food pantry serves three hot meals a day to clients of homeless shelters and the CSRC Rehab Program, as well as homeless living on the streets. Bags of food are provided to approximately 50 families per day, 52 weeks a year. And right now, they are in need of boxed items.

The Ingles store is located at 1335 Stallings Rd. at the intersection of Rutherford Road, not far from Wade Hampton High School.

If you can't stop by the Ingles Tuesday morning, donations can be dropped off at The Salvation Army's store or office on Rutherford Street in downtown Greenville.
