Lesa Nix (Spartanburg Co. Detention Center)
SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Though the items were bagged, police said a Spartanburg woman tried to steal nearly $500 worth of home decorations and other items from a local Walmart.
On Tuesday, Spartanburg police were called to the Dorman Centre Walmart just before 1 p.m. where the loss prevention officer had detained 50-year-old Lesa Nix.
The officer told police that Nix took shopping bags from a closed register then began bagging the items in her cart and tried to walk out of the store through the garden exit without paying. Police said they found two plants, several pillows, a table, spray paint, an area rug, two comforter sets and other items in her cart that was worth a total of $495.86.
Nix was arrested charged with shoplifting. She was later released from jail.
