SURPRISE, AZ (CBS5) -

West Valley police need help identifying suspects seen breaking into vehicles in Surprise and Peoria and swiping personal information.

In at least two of the vehicle burglaries, suspects stole IDs and then used the victim's information to buy things, according to Surprise police spokesman Sgt. Mike Donovan.

The suspects are also linked to similar crimes in Peoria, Donovan said.

In each of the vehicle burglaries, victims left their vehicles unlocked.

Donovan said the suspects have been seen walking through parking lots checking vehicle doors for those that are unlocked or where valuables or purchases may be in plain sight.

In one case, the victim was pumping gas and ran into the store briefly while leaving the vehicle unlocked and her purse inside, Donovan said.

Police stressed to keep an eye out for suspicious activity.

Donovan said investigators hope people can identify the suspect's pictures taken by security cameras.

People with any information should contact Detective Dave Daniels at 623-222-4341, or, if you wish to remain anonymous, call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS.
