Deputies: Worker bound with tape during attempted robbery

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A worker was bound with duct tape during an attempted robbery in Greenville on Friday afternoon, according to deputies.

The robbery happened at 12:25 p.m. at ATL Fashions at 926 Poinsett Hwy.

Investigators said 18-year-old Marquis Blassingame was among several people who walked in to the store, two of whom were armed with guns, and tried to rob the store. They said one of the people inside the store was bound with duct tape, while three others were held at gunpoint.

Deputies said the group fled the store without stealing anything when someone walked in.

Blassingame is wanted on charges of attempted armed robbery, kidnapping, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and criminal conspiracy.

Anyone with information regarding Blassingame's whereabouts or the hold up was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME (864-232-7463).
