GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
The Morning News anchor Cody Alcorn and more than 30 other bachelors and bachelorettes will be on the auction block this week for three local causes.
On Friday night, people will be able to bid to win a date with the participants at Auction for a KAWS with all of the proceeds will go to help the Kitten Action Team, Carmen's Rescue and Pet Tender Angel animal rescue groups.
It takes place at the Greenville Marriott on The Parkway, and it will also host a silent auction. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the event starting at 8 p.m. Tickets at the door cost $35. Tickets can be bought in advance at Solar Tan on Haywood Road for $25.
"We have a goal to raise $60,000," said event organizer and Solar Tan Owner Keli Miller. "That money will go a long way to help animals who are found in awful conditions throughout the Upstate."
The Humane Society ranks South Carolina as one of the worst states in the country for its treatment of animals.
