CONWAY, SC (WMBF) - Below is a timeline of major events that occurred during the shooting incident at University Place, an off-campus housing complex for Coastal Carolina University students, on Tuesday, February 26. Click here to read the full story.
Tuesday
7:21 p.m.. Shooting takes place outside of University Place, CCU student housing, located at 114 Jackson Bluff Rd. in Conway, SC.
7:28 p.m. University police arrive on scene, according to reports. The shooting victim, 19-year-old Anthony Darnell Liddell, is transported to Grand Strand medical Center.
8:01 p.m.. First CCU Alert is texted to students and faculty. It reads:
"SUBJ. Active Shooter
MSG: Shooting Incident at University Place. All students stay in your dorm rooms and classrooms. Suspect at large."
8:15 p.m. Second CCU Alert is texted:
"The shooting is not ongoing Police continue to search for one suspect. Stay indoors.
8:50 p.m. Liddell dies from a fatal gunshot wound at Grand Strand Medical Center, according to a university communication.
9:52 p.m. Third CCU Alert is texted:
"Persons inside CCU classroom buildings may leave at this time to go home. All students in dorms are to remain inside."
Wednesday
6 a.m. Lockdown at the CCU residence halls is lifted. Class resumes as normal.
