Deputies: 3 try to cash fake checks at Hendersonville bank

HENDERSONVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Investigators said they are searching for three men who tried to cash fraudulent or forged checks at a Hendersonville bank.

Capt. Frank Stout, of the Henderson County Sheriff's Office, said the men tried to cash the checks at the Mountain First Bank and Trust branch on Greenville Highway.

Deputies said that when employees called for investigators, the men fled.

Investigators said they believe the same men are responsible for similar crimes in other parts of western North Carolina and surrounding states.

Anyone with information about the identity of the men was asked to call the Henderson County Sheriff's Office at 828-697-4611.
