BRYSON CITY, NC (FOX Carolina) -
Deputies said they have arrested eight suspects in connection with a western North Carolina man's death following an assault Saturday.
Swain County deputies said 29-year-old Calup Joe Caston died at Mission Hospital following an assault at the Old 288 boat ramp in the county.
Deputies said they arrested and charged the eight suspects with first-degree murder in connection with Caston's death.
The suspects were Troy Boston, 24 of Cherokee; Joshua Calhoun, 18 of Cherokee; Marcos Cardonne, 22 of Cherokee; Trevor George, 17 of Cherokee; Corey Jenkins, 20 of Bryson City; Curtis Price, 17 of Cherokee; Correy Price, 24 of Cherokee; and Joshua Price, 20 of Cherokee.
