Website designed to collect input on education and transportation goes live March 4; public meetings planned for Denver and Grand Junction
Denver, CO. (PRWEB) March 04, 2013
TBD Colorado announced today a second phase designed to collect input from people throughout the state, particularly on issues related to education and transportation.
“We are excited to build on last year’s successful TBD Colorado process,” Gov. John Hickenlooper said. “This second phase will continue public engagement about education and transportation to better inform Coloradans and help policy makers with these two important issues. We look forward to the sharing of information and exchange of ideas about what’s best for Colorado’s future.”
TBD Colorado is a nonpartisan, collaborative effort to create informed and constructive conversations among Coloradans about some of the biggest issues facing the state.
In 2012, TBD Colorado engaged more than 2,000 Coloradans in an unprecedented effort to learn about, discuss and provide input on some of the state’s most important issues. The second phase this month is designed to generate input from even more Coloradans on the two specific issues that rose to the top of the priority list in last year’s careful and thought-provoking meetings across the state.
Coloradans are encouraged to visit http://www.eTBDColorado.org from March 4 to March 25 to comment on education and transportation. At the end of this release please find a screenshot of the site that goes live on March 4.
Coloradans are also encouraged to attend public meetings in Denver on March 12 and Grand Junction on March 18 to share their thoughts and opinions on these issues. Each public meeting can accommodate approximately 200 people on a first come, first served basis. Please visit http://www.TBDColorado.org to register to attend.
“The first phase of TBD Colorado carefully explored opportunities and challenges related to a variety of issues,” said Greg Maffei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TBD Colorado. “We want to be sure we’re carefully considering public sentiment as we continue to look to hone in and tackle Colorado’s most important issues in a fiscally responsible manner, and we hope all Coloradans will take a few minutes to go to the web site and comment.”
Information gathered through this phase of the program will be used to:
Denver-based public policy strategy firm Engaged Public designed and implemented the first phase of TBD Colorado and will implement the second phase, as well.
“TBD Colorado is an excellent opportunity to engage the creativity, innovativeness and passion of Coloradans to improve our state’s future,” said Chris Adams, president of Engaged Public.
TBD Colorado is managed by a nonprofit organization and governed by a volunteer board of directors. No state dollars are being spent on TBD Colorado.
