HENDERSONVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -
A Hendersonville man was arrested after police said a baby was found to have suffered head trauma on Tuesday.
Capt. Frank Stout, of the Henderson County Sheriff's Office, said deputies were called to Pardee Hospital after doctors became suspicious of injuries to a 6-month-old baby. He said doctors determined the baby had suffered head trauma and was taken to Mission Hospital in Asheville for surgery.
Stout said investigators charged 25-year-old Ryan Swaby with felony child abuse inflicting serious physical injury. He said Swaby was being held in the county jail on $100,000 bond.
The child's condition was not immediately released.
