ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Several apartments were damaged by a fire that sent one person to the hospital in Asheville on Friday, officials said.

Kelley Klope, the spokesperson for the Asheville Fire Department, said a woman was injured after an apartment caught fire along Windswept Drive Friday about 11:30 a.m.

Klope said four units were damaged and the roof partially collapsed above the condo that caught fire. She said the three other units were damaged by smoke.

Firefighters reported the fire was extinguished by about 12:30 p.m. and said no one else was injured.

There is no word yet what sparked the blaze.
