BOILING SPRINGS, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Deputies said a Valley Falls man was wounded during an armed robbery attempt at a Spartanburg County home Friday night.
The shooting happened around 10:15 p.m. outside of their Wilson Court home.
Spartanburg County deputies said a couple was returning home from the movies and as they were getting out of their yellow SUV, the victim was approached by two men wearing ski masks and hooded sweatshirts.
Deputies said one of the robbers shot the male victim in the chest, then they both fled the scene. The woman told deputies she saw the men approach and order the victim to the ground, so she locked herself and their child inside the car as a gunshot was fired.
Search dogs were brought into try and track down the men but were not located, deputies said.
The victim was transported to the hospital where remained in serious condition and was expected to survive.
