ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -
Firefighters said a woman who was injured during a fire at an Asheville apartment complex on Friday has died.
Asheville firefighters were called to the condos on Windswept Drive about 11:30 a.m. where they found the upper unit on fire and the building full of smoke.
The fire was extinguished, but left serious damage including a partially collapsed roof to the main unit and smoke damage to the others.
Firefighters rescued the woman, who was taken to a local hospital with injuries. They said she died at the hospital on Sunday.
The fire remains under investigation.
