SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Moore man was arrested after deputies said a gun was found in his truck, which was parked in a school parking lot.

According to an incident report from the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office, deputies were conducting a search of the parking lot at ZL Madden Elementary School on Tuesday when a drug dog indicated there may be something in a vehicle. The owner of the vehicle, identified as Grady Hudson III, was called to the parking lot, according to the report.

The report said that when Hudson was asked if there was something in his truck that would cause the dog to respond, he informed deputies that there was a pistol in the glove compartment.

Hudson told deputies he did not have a concealed weapons permit, according to the report.

Hudson was charged with possession of a weapon on school grounds.

No drugs were found in the vehicle.
