SPARTANBURG, SC (AP) -

A Spartanburg woman has been convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of a driver in a vehicle nearly two years ago.

Twenty-three-year-old Janella Blocker was convicted Tuesday after a jury deliberated about an hour.

Circuit Judge Roger Couch sentenced Blocker to one year in prison, followed by a year of home detention. She also will be on probation for four years.

Twenty-year-old Timesha S. Lyles of Spartanburg died in a crash April 17, 2011 on Interstate 85.

Prosecutor Russell Ghent said Blocker became angry after a confrontation over $2 and grabbed the steering wheel of the SUV that Lyles was driving.

Prosecutors say Lyles died after she was pinned upside down in the SUV.

Prosecutors say both women had been drinking before the wreck.
