Deputies arrest 1 after Anderson Arby's robbed

ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said they have made an arrest after an employee was shot during an armed robbery at an Anderson Arby's on Monday.

Anderson County deputies said a man dressed in dark clothes entered the restaurant on Pearman Dairy Road and shot an employee during the robbery before fleeing.

As they continued to investigate, deputies said they arrested 20-year-old Javon Palmer, of Anderson, on charges of armed robbery, kidnapping, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

He is being held at the Anderson County Detention Center where he awaits a bond hearing.

Deputies said the robbery is still under investigation and more arrests could be made.

The employee was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Anderson police also investigated an armed robbery about a half an hour after the Arby's robbery on Monday, but have yet to say if the two were connected.
