Yankee candle could be sold

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

According to Reuters, the Chicago-based company Madison Dearborn Partners is looking to sell the Deerfield company to Barclays and Bank of America, Merrill lynch.

Madison Dearborn Partners bought Yankee Candle for $1.6 billion back in 2006.

Yankee Candle Employs 1,600 people between their flagship store and its factory in Whately.

Last year, the company took home more $840 million in revenue making them the largest scented candle company in the world.

CBS 3 called Yankee Candle for a response, but they declined on giving a statement.
