TRAVELERS REST, SC (FOX Carolina) -
A student at Travelers Rest High School was arrested Wednesday after a note conveying a bomb threat was found at the school.
Oby Lyles, spokesman for Greenville County Schools, said the note prompted an evacuation of students and staff. He said classes resumed after a search of the building determined it to be safe.
Lyles said the ninth-grader was suspended and has been recommended for expulsion. The student's name was not released.
Capt. John Gardner, of the Travelers Rest Police Department, said the teen was charged with conveying false information regarding attempted use of a destructive device.
