SENECA, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Some Seneca neighborhoods remained under a boil water advisory Thursday morning after a water main break.
The advisory was issued Wednesday by Seneca Light and Water for residents and customers in the area of Keowee School Road from Elisabeth Cain Drive to Glenview Court and Cedarwood of Ebenezer Road, including the subdivisions along Luther Land and Owens roads, Beacon Shores, Saxony Forest, Petty Road, Clear Water, Westwood Bay, White Harbour and Lakeside Estates.
The utility company said customers should flush their water lines and expect a lot of air in lines along with milky water for several days.
Customers are urged to boil all drinking and cooking water for at least one minute at a rolling boil. They said water used for bathing or laundry does not need to be boiled.
The advisory was issued at 10 a.m. Wednesday and was expected to be in effect until at least 10 a.m. Thursday.
Officials said people may notice that fire hydrants in the area are being flushed also.
Customers with questions should contact Seneca Light and Water at 864-885-2723 or check the company's website for updates.
