The Oconee County Coroner said a Westminster man died Saturday night after the tractor he was riding rolled over, crushing him.
Coroner Karl Addis said 43-year-old Terry Land was driving his Zetor 3320 tractor back home when he went down a grade, causing the tractor to roll over onto its top. He said the tractor did not have a rollover protection bar.
Land was taking a round bale of hay to a horse pasture, Addis said.
Addis said the accident happened on property near Land's home on Rufus Land Road between 7 and 8:30 p.m., but Land's family did not find him to nearly 11 p.m. when they went looking for him after he was realized missing.
Addis said Land died from traumatic asphyxiation.
