At 7:02AM Wednesday morning we'll be ushering in spring officially! Around that time, temps should be in the 30s area-wide...and we'll be waiting on even colder temps for Wednesday night. In fact, a Freeze Watch is in effect for the lower elevations of the Upstate, northeast GA and NC piedmont for Wednesday night. The growing season has begun outside the mountains, so we'll all want to protect our vegetative interests tomorrow night!
Colder air slowly builds in Wednesday and Thursday, so we'll experience temps well below normal! Even with sunshine on Thursday we'll only make the low 50s in the Upstate and low 40s for the mountains...oh yeah and it will be breezy! Yikes! Not the start to spring many of us would like!
The trend of "weather you probably won't like" continues for the weekend! A cold air wedge will work in, which will keep us cloudy, cold and rainy through both Saturday and Sunday. A disturbance along a front to our south will ride through Sunday, bringing the heaviest rain then as it looks now.
Cooler air builds in once the wedge breaks, so we'll be looking at more wintry temps for next week. So, I hope you still have those coats and sweaters handy!
