GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A man wanted in connection with a bank robbery in Maryland earlier this month was arrested in Greenville on Monday, according to authorities.

Deputy U.S. Marshal Douglas Leslie, spokesman for the agency's office in Greenville, said 36-year-old James Vanwinkle was accused of robbing a bank in Frederick City, MD, on March 13. He said investigators determined Vanwinkle was in the Greenville area and requested local assistance.

Leslie said marshals and Greenville police officers located Vanwinkle in the 400 block of North Main Street and arrested him.

Vanwinkle was being held in the Greenville County Detention Center on a fugitive from justice warrant.

Leslie said Vanwinkle is wanted in Maryland on charges of bank robbery, failing to stop for blue light, fleeing on foot, reckless driving and negligent driving.
