GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Greenville County middle school was locked down for a short time Wednesday morning after someone was robbed on Woodruff Road, police said.

Greenville County Schools spokesperson Susan Clarke said law enforcement suggested Beck Academy be placed on partial lockdown because of a nearby armed robbery about 10:45 a.m.

Greenville police spokesman Johnathan Bragg said someone was robbed at gunpoint in the parking lot of the recently opened Quik Trip on Woodruff Road at Verdae Boulevard.

Beck Academy is located just down the road on Woodruff.

Bragg said the robber walked away and was caught a short time later.
