ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -
Firefighters battled a blaze at an Asheville warehouse known as the "Cotton Mill" Tuesday morning.
The warehouse is located on Riverside Drive, near the Ice House, in a historic district along the French Broad River.
Asheville Fire Department officials said the call came in just after 4 a.m. and said the warehouse was abandoned. All of the hotspots were out by 9:30 a.m.
Officials at the scene said the area was once used for manufacturing and some of the buildings have since been restored, but this one has not yet been. Recently the building's owner had been working with the city to get the property secured, officials said.
The area where the warehouse is located is known as the River Arts District, which the city has worked to redevelop.
There is no word what sparked the blaze. A fire department spokesman said no one was injured in the fire.
