Deputies: Man shot in neck drives himself to ER

LYMAN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A woman is behind bars after deputies said she shot a man in the neck, who drove himself to the hospital Monday night.

Spartanburg County deputies were called into assist Greer police with their investigation after deputies said a man was shot in Lyman but then drove himself to the hospital in Greer.

According to the deputy's report, the victim drove to Greer Memorial Hospital and was found with a gunshot wound to his neck. Deputies said he was then airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital.

As they followed up with the investigation, deputies said the man was shot at a home on Edwards Store Road in Lyman and identified 30-year-old Joy Lockey as the shooter.

Lockey was later arrested and charged with attempted murder.

Deputies did not have an update on the victim's condition Monday morning.

Investigators have not said what the motive was in the shooting.
