Cold, wet weather forecast for Thursday

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

After a warm, spring-like week, the weather will take a cold and wet turn Thursday, according to FOX Carolina Chief Meteorologist Kendra Kent.

Kent said a storm system moving along the Gulf Coast will funnel moisture into the western Carolinas. She said the rain will persist throughout much of Thursday, with periods of heavy rain possible.

As much as an inch of rain is possible in some locations, Kent said.

In addition to the rain, an easterly wind will keep things cold, Kent said. She said temperatures will struggle to reach 50 degrees across the western Carolinas on Thursday.

Kent said the rain will end by Friday morning.

The gorgeous weather returns in time for the weekend when high temperatures of near 70 degrees are forecast, Kent said.
