Deputies: Toddler found walking streets at night

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said a Boiling Springs couple let a 2-year-old walk the streets at night, alone, with a dog.

Spartanburg County deputies said the girl was spotted walking along Windy River Road after 7 p.m. on March 25.

The 911 caller told deputies the girl was tripped and fell down as she walked with the dog, unsupervised.

The caller did not recognize the child, who was then placed in protective custody, deputies said.

On Thursday, deputies arrested and charged 31-year-old John Hyder and 24-year-old Laura Rogers with unlawful neglect of a child.

According to their arrest warrants, Rogers and Hyder were in charge of the child while she was left alone and also exposed her to marijuana.
