We have been watching a developing severe weather situation for the past ten days and it looks like the severe threat is diminishing as the cold front
moves faster across east Texas.
There could be a few isolated strong storms but
the majority of severe weather should now develop off to our east.
Tuesday, a layer of very warm air around 5000 feet of the surface helped protect East Texas from thunderstorm development. This was great news because if a storm would have developed it would have rapidly become severe.
Behind this front much cooler air will spill into the area. Late Wednesday afternoon temperatures will be in the 50s along the I-30 corridor with the mercury falling through the 60s elsewhere. Stay with KLTV and KLTV.com for the latest weather developments. If you have not done so now would be a great time to go to your smart phone or tablet app store and download the KLTV weather app to give you the latest severe weather information.
