UNION, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said a Jonesville man held a woman against her will when she wanted to get medical treatment because he punched her in the nose.

Union County deputies said the woman eventually got away and ran to the Mini Mart on Furman L. Fendley Highway Sunday afternoon where she locked herself in the bathroom because the suspect followed her there.

Deputies said the victim told them that she was at 49-year-old Rick Bell's house and they were arguing when he held her down on the bed and as she tried to kick him off of her, he punched her in the nose.

As the blood poured from her nose, Bell stopped, according to deputies. Deputies said when she tried to leave to go to the hospital, he wouldn't let her because he did not want to get in trouble.

When the woman thought Bell was asleep, she was able to get away to find help, deputies said.

When investigators went back to Bell's home to talk to him, he told them that she fell into her car door, but deputies said they did not find any blood splatter at the car. Deputies said when they went inside the home, they found blood in the bedroom where the woman said she was attacked.

Deputies arrested Bell on charges of criminal domestic violence high and aggravated, kidnapping and possession of marijuana.
