Aloft, the annual weekend festival that fills Simpsonville's sky with the sight of hot air balloons and the sound of live music, announced some of its major attractions on Wednesday.

Formerly known as Freedom Weekend Aloft, Aloft will fill Heritage Park in Simpsonville with 80 hot air balloons, a zipline over the causeway, four satellite entertainment stages, a craft beer experience, painting classes by Sassy Paints, stand-up comedy, gourmet food trucks, patriotic tributes, RC airplanes, ultralight planes and more from May 24-27.

More than 50 bands and singers will perform throughout the weekend including country artist Kip Moore, Andy Grammer, Corey Smith and Third Eye Blind.

"The new Aloft is all about giving people reasons to spend the entire day with us at Heritage Park," said Executive Director Cindy Nelson. "We want people to be actively engaged, never running out of attractions to explore."

On Friday, Kip Moore, Emerson Drive and Outshyne are some of the featured artists. Saturday will highlight Corey Smith and Andy Grammer and then on Sunday, Third Eye Blind with a special guest will perform.

Throughout the four-day festival, 80 hot air balloons will launch into the skies, offering rides to guests. The festival is also host to the Balloon Federation of America's Southeast Regional Championships and the South Carolina State Championships for 2013.

Advance tickets to Aloft are $8 per person online at At the festival gates, tickets will cost $12 per person before 4 p.m. and $15 afterwards. Children 12 years old and younger get in free with an adult admission.

The festival is presented by Greenville Health System and Hillcrest Memorial Hospital along with several sponsors including FOX Carolina.
