EASLEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Pickens County deputies said they located a man serving a 30-day sentence who escaped a work release program Wednesday.

Keith Vinson, director of the Pickens County Prison which is a Department of Corrections designated facility, said a group of non-violent offenders were working on a road and bridges crew helping out with pipe installation when the man escaped.

Vinson said the man was 21-year-old Matthew Brissey, who was serving the third day of his sentence for false information to an Easley police officer. He is now in jail on an escape charge.

Brissey walked away from the job site about 10:10 a.m. and was caught about a mile or two away just before noon, Vinson said. Sheriff Rick Clark said the man was located in a yard along Moore Drive.

Dispatchers said they were searching near Cartee and Smith Grove roads in Easley.
